Website Privacy Policy

This policy describes the privacy practices regarding information collected from Texas Cyber Command website visitors.  

This policy applies only to the Texas Cyber Command website and does not apply whenever visitors leave the Texas Cyber Command site by clicking a link to an external site, including the websites of other state agencies and local governments. Collection of Information

The Texas Cyber Command website is not currently configured to conduct online transactions on the site. Visitors are not asked to input any personally identifiable information into the site.

Texas Cyber Command uses Google Analytics to collect information about the number and types of visitors to Texas Cyber Command and how they use the website. This information includes information such as the type of browser, operating system, and the Internet Protocol ("IP") address used by each visitor and similar information about the computer network used. It may also include information verifying when and how pages of the website were accessed. However, no attempt is made to match this information with the identity of the visitor, except as is required to comply with a law enforcement investigation.

Use of Information

Information collected through Google Analytics is used for the following purposes related to the Texas Cyber Command website:

Texas Cyber Command does not sell and does not generally release (other than as provided in this policy) personally identifiable information to third parties; however, information provided to any governmental body may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act and applicable federal and state legislation. Additionally, certain state agencies or local governments whose sites are accessible through Texas Cyber Command may have different policies concerning the sale or release of personally identifiable information. Upon leaving the Texas Cyber Command website and linking to an external site, the policies governing Texas Cyber Command no longer apply and users are subject to the external site’s policies. Questions and concerns regarding the information or services provided by a linked site must be directed to the entity or individual responsible for that site, rather than to Texas Cyber Command.

Securing Information

The Texas Cyber Command website has appropriate security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of data. Texas Cyber Command monitors network traffic for site security purposes and to ensure that the site remains available to all users. Unauthorized attempts to upload information, change information on this site, or otherwise cause damage are strictly prohibited and may be punishable under Texas Penal Code Chapters 33 (Computer Crimes) or 33A (Telecommunications Crimes).

Texas Cyber Command reserves the right to change the terms of this policy at any time.  Review this page periodically to stay informed of any updates.  Any modifications are effective immediately.
