Accessibility Policy

The Texas Cyber Command (TXCC) is committed to providing equal access to information and services for individuals with disabilities. We design and maintain this website in alignment with applicable federal and state accessibility laws and standards, and we work to identify and remove barriers as part of routine site maintenance.

Standards we follow

This website is designed to comply with the accessibility requirements established by:

• Texas Government Code Chapter 2054, Subchapter M (§§2054.451–465): Electronic and Information Resources Accessibility.
• 1 Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 206 (state website accessibility standards) and Chapter 213 (EIR accessibility standards), which align Texas standards with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
• Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended (29 U.S.C. § 794d).
• Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, as amended, and the U.S. Department of Justice rule on the accessibility of web information and services of state and local government entities.
• Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

What is digital accessibility?

Digital accessibility means designing and building technology so that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with websites and digital tools. Accessible content does not depend on a single sense or ability, and can be used effectively with assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, and alternative input devices.

Our approach

TXCC follows recognized accessibility standards in the design and development of this website, conducts ongoing review against those standards, and revises content as issues are identified or as assistive technologies evolve. Some content on this site may have been produced before current guidelines were in effect; we work to bring older content into compliance as it is modified or as issues are reported.

Exceptions

Where strict compliance with an accessibility standard would impose a significant difficulty or expense, TXCC may submit an exception request for review and approval as provided under 1 TAC §213.17. Approved exceptions include a plan for an alternate method of access for individuals with disabilities. Exception procedures are administered consistent with guidance issued by the Texas Department of Information Resources.
