SAN ANTONIO — Texas Cyber Command (TXCC) has concluded its 2026 “Texas First. Cyber Ready.” campaign, a Cybersecurity Awareness Month initiative that engaged thousands of Texans across government, critical infrastructure, education, industry, and local communities.

Throughout October, TXCC hosted public webinars, executive briefings, and statewide events, took part in media engagements, and ended the month with an in-person program at the Texas State Capitol on Oct. 29 to discuss statewide cyber resilience and emerging threats.

TXCC extends its sincere appreciation to the cybersecurity professionals, state and local government leaders, legislative staff, federal and military partners, state agencies, universities, industry leaders, and other organizations that supported the campaign, along with the Texans who attended webinars and events and strengthened security practices in their workplaces, homes, and communities.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month Proclamation: The campaign unfolded under a proclamation from Governor Greg Abbott designating October 2026 as Cybersecurity Awareness Month in Texas (opens in new tab). The governor’s proclamation underscored the escalating complexity of cyber risks and TXCC’s mission to detect threats, promote awareness, and prepare the state for cyberattacks.

The Mission Continues: While the campaign has ended, TXCC’s work advancing its five mission pillars (Prevent, Secure, Protect, Defend, and Educate) continues year-round through coordinated operations, threat intelligence, incident response, and statewide partnership.

“Cybersecurity Awareness Month brought Texans together around a critical reality: cyber threats are accelerating, and securing Texas takes collective action that extends beyond October,” said TXCC Chief Timothy “TJ” White. “Protecting Texas is a year-round commitment. Threat actors in cyberspace don’t take a day off, and neither do we.”
